Lake Nacimiento December 8, 2015 Fishing Report
Water Temp: 55-65 degrees
Water Elevation: 727.8 ft
Weather: We had a small amount of rain on Monday and Tuesday, but we are expecting partly cloudy conditions with highs in the 60’s and lows in the 40’s.
Spotted Bass continue to bite regularly despite the colder water temperature. Using Plastic Worms and Jigs and practicing a slow retrieve and jigging technique should net you a good amount of Spotted Bass.Though Black Bass are much rarer, the same techniques, with a little luck, could get you the next Lunker.
Avoid using top water lures at Lake Nacimiento, you need a lure that will drop right in front of a bass and entice them to strike. A plastic worm rigged for drop shot does this very well.
Casting out and using a steady retrieve will decrease your chances of getting a reflex strike considerably. Jigging and pole technique is very important in cold water.
